Epson
printers have permanent built-in print head which allows to use a very high
quality printhead. It seems like its modern printers are far better for head
blockages. Whether you use compatible printer cartridges or original Epson
cartridges, there will be a time when few or many nozzles will be blocked and
the cleaning alone won't help.
If your printer has a blockage, then why would you want to go further than the
cleaning service? Well, because the printer Head Clean process for desktop
system fails, even after few runs and you have to come up with something
better.
Gaps or straight lines banding in the printing or strange color appearances are
the signs of clogged heads.
Even after a nozzle pass check, you might face this recurring issue.
You have 4 choices when such situation arrives-
- Get the printer repaired. This is way more expensive
than buying a new printer unless you have an expensive professional
printer.
- Changing the printhead yourself.
- The best choice is to toss the printer, save the ink
and buy a new printer.
- Cleaning the print head yourself.
Printer models are far better at self-cleaning, the tips
below will help to minimize the clogged printhead issue-
- Turn on the printer/ press the ink button until the
cartridges move into the position required for changing them. Doesn’t turn
off the printer rather unplug it. Now you can move the ink cart carriage
freely.
- Buy a printhead cleaning kit that is accompanied with a
syringe and a piece of tubing. You can also use cleaning fluid.
- Remove your printhead.
Now
to check if it is completely unclogged, use syringe and tubing and use some
cleaning fluid back through the print heads.
Note: Before attempting any of the above mentioned steps always unplug your
printer.
